How much does Booksy cost in the UK in 2026?
Booksy costs £40 a month plus VAT in the UK, which comes to £48 for one user. Extra users are £5 a month plus VAT each. Switch on optional Boost and Booksy charges 30% plus VAT, with a £5 minimum, on a new Boost client’s first visit. Payments and fast payouts cost extra.

The headline price is simple: one plan, with all features included. You get unlimited bookings, a Marketplace listing, free standard Marketplace bookings, email marketing, appointment confirmations and reminders, and 500 marketing texts a month. There’s a seven-day free trial, with no card needed.
How the £40 Booksy subscription works
Here’s the bit that’s easy to miss: the advertised £40 is before VAT. At the current 20% UK VAT rate, a solo professional really starts at £48 a month before Boost, payment processing, extra users or chargeable texts.
Add one more user and the total becomes £54 a month including VAT. Three users take it to £60. Booksy says the subscription is month to month and you can cancel at any time.
What does Booksy Boost cost?
Boost is optional. You can switch it on for free and there’s no monthly charge. You only pay when Booksy says Boost brought you a brand-new client. The fee is 30% of their first-visit total, plus VAT, with a minimum of £5 plus VAT. Later visits from that client carry no Boost commission.
With Boost off, standard Marketplace bookings carry no commission. Even when Boost is on, Booksy lists your personal booking link, Google, Instagram, Facebook and QR codes as 0% commission routes.
You still get a free Marketplace listing without Boost. But Boosted businesses get more visibility. That’s the whole point. Booksy says they can appear in recommended galleries and get a “Booksy Recommended” badge. So if the Marketplace is the main reason you’re choosing Booksy, I’d budget for Boost. I wouldn’t bank on the free listing doing the work for you. Booksy doesn’t share the numbers, so we can’t say for sure.
A quick heads-up: Booksy’s pages disagree on Boost
Booksy’s UK pricing page and its dedicated Boost page both say 30% with a £5 minimum. But Booksy’s general UK features page still says 40% with a £10 minimum.
That’s a pretty big difference. We’ve used 30% and £5 because the two more specific pricing pages agree. Still, check your Booksy account and agreement before making a decision.
What are Booksy’s UK payment fees?
If you use Booksy to take payments, there are extra transaction fees. Mobile Payments cost 1.29% + 20p + VAT per transaction. Tap to Pay costs 0.99% + 20p + VAT and doesn’t need a separate card reader.
Standard next-day payouts are free. Need the money in 30 minutes? Booksy charges 1.5% for a Fast Payout. Its pricing page says services and transaction fees are subject to VAT.
Those costs move with the number and value of your payments, so I’ve kept them out of the worked example below.
Worked example: one £100 client from optional Boost
Let’s make the numbers real. This example assumes one user, one month of Booksy and one brand-new client brought by optional Boost whose first visit costs £100. It leaves out payment processing, Fast Payouts, additional users and texts above the included allowance.

This isn’t a perfect like-for-like product comparison. It’s simply what the bill looks like in this example. If Boost brings you a great new client who comes back, that one-time fee may be money well spent.
When might Booksy be worth paying for?
Booksy may be worth the price if its Marketplace and optional Boost bring you enough profitable new clients, or if you genuinely need its team tools.
Do not guess. Track how many new clients Booksy brings you, what you paid to win them and whether they come back. If the numbers work, the extra cost may make sense. If you run a one-person business and do not need the Marketplace or team features, £48 a month including VAT is a high starting price.
When is JENA the better fit?

Here’s the honest answer: for a one-person business, Booksy is expensive. It starts at £48 a month including VAT before Boost, payment processing, Fast Payouts, extra users or marketing texts above the allowance.
Choose Booksy if its Marketplace or team tools earn their keep. Choose JENA if you want new clients to discover your own brand through Google, land on a professional website dedicated to your business and book you directly without a new-client fee. JENA also gives you real people to help you move and run your business.
